Pioneers of the Tobacco Valley, InterBel Telephone Cooperative has transformed from solely providing telephone access to Eureka, Montana to being the leader in technology and connectivity in Northwest Montana.
Who we are
Connected community. Connected cooperative.
InterBel provides businesses and residents across northwestern Montana with the high-quality internet and voice technology they need to communicate, as well as state-of-the-art security and web hosting services.
Our home is the Tobacco Valley, and our customers are our neighbors, family and friends. That’s why we are so committed to providing the fastest internet speeds in the nation, with a quality of service and personal touch you can’t find anywhere else.
As a cooperative, everything we do is for our members. Every year, we put millions of dollars back into our community in the form of capital credits, student scholarships, and donations to local organizations.
At InterBel, we’re more than an internet provider; we are your local connected cooperative. Let us know how we can serve you.
Great people doing good work.
Over the years, we’ve learned that great communication can’t happen with amazing technology alone; you need incredible people to get the job done. We are proud to be a small but mighty team of passionate community members, determined to do the necessary work and do it well.

Six decades of dedicated service.
Our story begins in 1962, when InterBel Telephone Cooperative was incorporated under the leadership of General Manager JR Pitman. We connected our first members to telephone service two years later, and we’ve continued to innovate in the six decades since.
As the telecommunications industry has evolved over the years, so have we. We began delivering internet service in 1998, and in 2011, we were the first in Montana to discontinue dial-up internet service and convert all customers to broadband using DSL. We are once again leading the pack with our commitment to equip the entire town of Eureka and our surrounding communities with fiber by the end of 2022.
From party line telephone service to lightning-fast fiber internet, we promise to continue progressing with technology in order to meet the demands of our members.
